2022 has been an incredible year for Vasectomy Australia, helping over 3500+ men achieve their permanent contraception objectives, with our safe affordable no-scalpel vasectomy procedure.  We’ve quickly grown to be the leading provider of vasectomies in Australia, and the most trusted resource for men looking for a permanent solution to their baby-planning goals.

We are entirely grateful for the trust that these people have placed in us and happy that we can be a small part of helping them on their journey.

As the demand continues to increase for Vasectomy Australia’s no-scalpel vasectomy services, we look for ways to continue servicing this growth. Because of this, Vasectomy Australia founder Dr. Geoff Cashion is excited to announce the opening of a new permanent Melbourne CBD Vasectomy Clinic, and with it, a new Specialist Vasectomist Dr. Marcel Kalau who will be performing Vasectomy Australia’s no-scalpel vasectomy at this new dedicated location.

Dr. Marcel Kalau is an experienced and skilled vasectomy surgeon who has performed over 2000 vasectomies in Melbourne, Canberra, and Perth. He completed his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle in 2011 and spent his first years working in emergency medicine and pediatrics in Western Australia. He completed his General Practice Fellowship in Melbourne in 2017 and his vasectomy training in 2018, which has since been his main focus.

He prides himself in his meticulous surgical technique and his caring and genuine interactions with his patients.  Whilst a vasectomy is a relatively quick procedure, it does involve technical skills to avoid complications and failures, which is why choosing an experienced vasectomy surgeon such as Dr. Kalau is very important.

Deciding to have a vasectomy can be a big decision, and often the first surgical procedure a lot of men will have. Dr. Kalau and his nursing team will always ensure that their patients are well-informed and confident with their decision and that the procedure and proper aftercare are as comfortable as possible.

Dr. Kalau also has an interest in global health equality having recently completed a Master of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Intelligence. He has worked in Geneva at the World Health Organisation on HIV prevention strategy, and in Papua New Guinea with the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine.
